Around Vernon, Bizy Castle

BIZY CASTLE

was built by Constant d'Ivry for Fouquet, Duke of Belle-Isle, Marshal of France, in 1740.

Famous for its stables inspired by those of Versailles,

Bizy was successively owned by King Louis XV, the Duke of Penthievre and King Louis-Philippe.

Baron Schickler retained the stables and built a new central building,

in the style of the great Italian palaces that can still be seen today.
